Hi Friends
Yesterday we were at the funeral of the husband of one of Lucy's oldest friends. Her mum is also one of my closest friends. Ian died of a heart-attack aged 38 last week, very suddenly and unexpectedly. He and Jenny have two lovely daughters aged 8 and 11. The 11 year old has just finished 5 years of chemo for leukaemia but, thank God, has been given the all clear.
Both the little ones decided beforehand that they wanted to say goodbye to Daddy. They had both written little messages and got up to read them. The older girl was very composed with Granny by her side, but the little one, with Grandad, just couldn't get through it. Grandad, who must have been torn apart inside, finished it for her. It was one of the most poignant and touching moments I have ever witnessed and the memory will stay with me always.
Apart from this, the very saddest of moments, the service was very uplifting and full of hope and laughter.
Could I please ask for your prayers for this little family as the shock starts to hit them and they have to start life all over again?
LoveJeanxxxx

We will pray for this whole family.

thank you for sharing this with us. How brave of the little ones. Life is just so unfair at times. I will remember them all in my prayers and light a candle for them at mass on Sunday.

What a terrible thing to happen Jean, my thoughts and love are with you all. What brave little girls, bless them.
A work collegue of my daughter died a few weeks ago, he was only in his 30's had a little four year old girl. Life can be so cruel at times. It's a tragic reminder to us to tell love ones what we feel and to enjoy each day.
Sending you all love
